PLAYWRIGHT, SCREENWRITER, COMEDIENNE
I am award-winning writer and comedian based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I hold a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from Carnegie Mellon University. In my writing [and personal life], I flirt with the unexpected…short shorts in an Alaskan winter and a vegan at one of those steak places that gives you a t-shirt when you finish a 40 oz porterhouse… to explore empathy and make people laugh.
My comedy screenplay Going Dutch, about an unconventional but brilliant art conservation scientist staring down an eccentric Dutch family’s alleged Rembrandt, won the 2020 Alfred P. Sloan Screenwriting Prize at Carnegie Mellon and was placed on the 2023 Athena List.
but don’t take it all from me…
“Kate Condé Hamilton is a master of scathing barbs across all the media, and a significant menace to society on at least three coasts” - Rob Handel (playwright)
“Kate is hysterically funny, self deprecating, and has her finger on the pulse of an edgy humor that rings true for young women but doesn’t exclude guys“ - Melissa Martin (screenwriter)
